OH BOY! Yeah -thanks indeed for the name! I had "pineapple" something on my mind - lol. (I posted an earlier comment) So it's Josephs Coat - I'm writing it down!
That may not be the 'classic' name, but here in the bible belt that is how it is known- Joseph's Coat (the coat of many colors ). The rose starts out yellow, orange and deep red and changes as it becomes more mature. I have two of them and they have withstood rust, black spot, aphids, powdery mildew, drought and a whole bunch of other natural rose disasters!
This or the New Blaze would be a good starter project.
Thanks for those recommendations! It's the most beautiful thing, and the fact that it withstands the rose disasters (which require a lot of work and spraying, etc., to keep at bay and to control) would definitely make those roses which you just named great ones for me to start out with. OH! What gorgeous colors they are!!
